Self-Drive Car Rental – Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- A valid driving license is mandatory.
- Provide government ID proof (Aadhar / Passport / PAN).
- International renters need an International Driving Permit.
2. Security Deposit
- Refundable security deposit required before handover.
- Refund in 3–7 working days post return and inspection.
3. Rental Period
- Starts at delivery and ends at scheduled return.
- Late return attracts extra hourly charges based on the vehicle category.
4. Vehicle Usage Rules
- Follow traffic laws and drive responsibly.
- No illegal activities or unauthorized drivers.
- No racing, towing, or commercial transport.
5. Fuel Policy
Return the car with the same fuel level; else fuel cost + service charge applies.
6. Vehicle Sourcing & Fleet Disclosure
- Vehicles made available on the SelfDrive4U platform may be sourced through arrangements with independent vehicle owners, fleet partners, or affiliated third parties (collectively, "Fleet Partners"), and not solely from vehicles owned directly by SelfDrive4U.
- By making a booking, the renter acknowledges and accepts that a vehicle may be provided under such an arrangement, and agrees that these Terms & Conditions govern the rental regardless of which Fleet Partner the vehicle is sourced from.
- SelfDrive4U is responsible for the booking, handover, and rental experience as described in this document. The renter agrees to raise any concerns about the vehicle solely through SelfDrive4U's support channels and not directly with any Fleet Partner.
7. Extra Charges (KM & Hours)

8. Damage & Accident Policy
- Inform us immediately after any accident, damage, or incident involving the vehicle.
- From the moment the vehicle is handed over to the renter at pickup until it is returned to and inspected by SelfDrive4U, the renter is solely responsible for the vehicle's condition.
- This responsibility applies regardless of whether the damage is caused by the renter, an authorized co-driver, or any third party (including but not limited to another driver, a pedestrian, vandalism, or an unattended-vehicle incident), for the entire duration the vehicle remains in the renter's custody.
- SelfDrive4U reserves the right to charge the renter for the full cost of repair or restoration of any such damage, which may be deducted from the security deposit and/or billed separately if the deposit is insufficient to cover the cost.
- Damage assessment will be based on a comparison of the vehicle's condition at pickup and at return, supported by photographs/inspection records where available.
- This clause does not apply to pre-existing damage documented at the time of handover, or to normal wear and tear.
9. Traffic Violations
Renter bears all challans, tolls, and parking penalties during the rental.
10. Cancellation Policy
- Cancel ≥24 hours before start: full refund.
- Cancel <24 hours: cancellation charges may apply.
11. Pickup & Drop-off Location Compliance
- The renter must collect the vehicle from the exact pickup location selected and confirmed at the time of booking. Failure to arrive at the designated pickup location will attract a flat fee of ₹500, in addition to any applicable No Show charges under this policy.
- The renter must return the vehicle to the same location designated at the time of booking. Returning the vehicle to a different location will attract a flat fee of ₹500, in addition to any towing, repositioning, or late-return charges that may separately apply.
- Any change to the pickup or drop-off location must be requested and confirmed with SelfDrive4U in advance; unapproved changes are treated as non-compliance under this section.
12. Vehicle Return Condition
Return clean and in received condition; excessive dirt/damage may incur cleaning/repair charges.
13. Breakdown Assistance
We provide roadside assistance for mechanical breakdowns.
14. Prohibited Uses
- Racing or drifting.
- Carrying hazardous materials.
- Driving under alcohol or drugs.
- Off-roading unless expressly permitted.
15. Liability
- We aren't responsible for personal belongings left in the car.
- No liability for indirect losses due to breakdown or accident.
- SelfDrive4U is not responsible for any third-party or consequential losses arising from vehicle malfunction, breakdown, or the vehicle stopping during the rental period — including, without limitation, missed meetings, missed flights, missed events, or any business or financial loss the renter may claim to have suffered as a result.
- In the event of a breakdown or malfunction, SelfDrive4U will make reasonable efforts to provide roadside assistance or arrange a replacement vehicle at the earliest opportunity, provided that the renter notifies SelfDrive4U immediately upon the issue occurring. Delayed reporting may affect the renter's eligibility for a replacement vehicle or any goodwill accommodation.
Important Notice: Extra Charges
SelfDrive4U will charge extra charges for **extra km driven**, **extra fuel shortage**, **damages incurred during the rental period (including damage caused by third parties while the vehicle is in the renter's custody)**, and **pickup/drop-off location non-compliance (₹500 each)**.
16. Agreement
By booking, you agree to all terms above.
